CAT08 Preparation

I had prepared well for CAT08 and got a good score but did not get calls from the colleges I wanted. My scores in the mocks in CAT08 were not always good. It was lagging behind and was finding it difficult to improve. But I soon leant that the only way to improve is not to try and solve too many papers as it does not help improve your scores. Focus should be to solve the sums faster. Also another mistake I used to do while analysing the mocks were to only focus on the sums that I did not solve or the once whre I commited mostakes. LAter I realised that in the exam I would most likely be solving the same sums that I have solved in the mocks. If I could improve my speed in these questions I could increase the number of questions I solve and hence my score. So I started analysing the questions I got right in. Also the key is to search for new methods of solving the questions that you have already solved. Improving the method of solving questions is a sureshot way to improve the scores. I did this and that ensured my mock CAT scores shot up and which resulted in me getting a good score in CAT08.

Learnings: While analysing mocks ensure you also analyse the right questions and keep on constantly improving your methods of solving these questions. Just by solving more mocks does not improve your score.
